2008-2009 Schedule of Events

October 26- All State Orchestra Auditions at SCAPA

October 30, 5:30-8:30- Fall Festival concert/play-a-thon, this is both a performance opportunity and a fundraising opportunity and will hopefully take the place of our annual fall fundraiser.

November 17 and 18, 7pm- Chamber Music Recitals, students in level 2 and 3 must choose one of these dates to perform either a solo or an ensemble.  Students in level one must attend one of these two concerts as an audience member.

November 22- Solo and Ensemble Festival at SCAPA, students may choose to sign up to be judged at this optional event.

December 9, 7 pm- Winter Festival with Chorus and Band at Singletary

January 28-February 1- Musical “The Sound of Music”.  All advanced orchestra members will be asked to participate in some way on at least one of these dates.

February 4-7- All State Orchestra, students who are accepted to this state-wide honors orchestra will travel to Louisville to represent Dunbar.

DATE CHANGE!!!!!March 5- Pre-Assessment concert, 7 pm.  Judges will be brought in to assess our progress as we prepare for our state performance assessment. 

March 16 and 17, State Performance Assessment during the school day at Singletary Center

March 26- Dunbar Area Concert, CANCELLED!!!!

April- Spring Competition trip level 2 and level 3TBA

May 15- Picnic on the Dawgwoods
