SIXTH GRADE STRING DAY IS COMING!! String Day is an opportunity for students from all Fayette County middle schools to get together and perform with a large group, meet other students from local schools, and have a campus experience. Sixth grade String Day will be held at the University of Kentucky Student Center on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Busses may leave as early as 9:00 a.m. and return as late as 2:00 p.m.). School busses will provide the transportation in most cases. Students should bring a sack lunch to String Day. A sack lunch may be ordered from your school at regular school prices or can be brought from home. Drinks and chips can be purchased for $1.00 each. Regular school clothes should be worn. Be sure to look neat – your picture may be taken. Each student must bring a folding wire music stand: label it with your name and school. Each school must have at least one parent chaperone to accompany the students to and from U.K. If you are interested, please indicate on the permission slip below and return it as soon as possible to Mrs. Mayes, your Orchestra Teacher. We look forward to seeing you at Sixth Grade String Day. A short performance will be held in the Student Center Ballroom at 12:00 noon. Everyone is welcome!
