An Orchestra Play – A – Thon
Lexington Traditional Magnet School
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
6:00 – 8:00 pm  

This is the day we have chosen to publicly share our musical talents with families and friends.  During this two hour period, each of the 120 orchestra members will perform seven or more musical selections on his/her instrument at stations throughout the halls of the school in the form of solos, duets, or trios.  We will also have a main stage in the cafeteria where every student will make at least one appearance.

This two hour event will be our only fundraiser of the year and will raise revenue to help purchase new orchestra music for every grade, new instruments and many other needed orchestra materials and supplies. 

To help us with the major undertaking, we ask your support in sponsoring a penny or more for each musical selection performed by the LTMS orchestra students IN TOTAL during our play-a-thon on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 6:00-8:00 pm.  Our directors, Kelly Mayes and Cassandre Crawford, always encourage us to do our best and perform in front of others as often as possible.  Therefore, each of our 120 orchestra students will perform within a designated ten minute time period, seven or more copyright-free songs.   On Wednesday, September 23 we will receive verification notices of the total number of songs played to share with our parents and sponsors.

We thank you for your sponsorship and hope you can come Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for an evening of organized musical madness!
