ABOUT THE LTMS ORCHESTRA
Lexington Traditional Magnet School offers four different levels of orchestra
instruction: 6th Grade Beginning Orchestra (for students with one year or
less experience), 6th Grade Intermediate Orchestra (for students with two or
more years of experience), 7th Grade Orchestra, and 8th Grade Orchestra.
A new class, Multicultural Orchestra, is now a choice for 8th Grade students
during the second semester. The orchestra curriculum covers a wide array of musical, historical, and
cultural topics. Students learn about the elements of music, music theory,
music history, and multicultural music all while learning to play a string
instrument. Orchestra classes are held everyday for 51 minutes in our
newly renovated orchestra room.
