KENTUCKY'S GOVERNMENT

 by: Preston

Kentucky's State  Government

Our state government is a democratic government.  It consists of three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial.  The job of the executive branch is to see that the laws of the state are enforced.  The job of the legislative branch is to make laws, and the job of the judicial branch is to interpret the laws that protect the rights of citizens of Kentucky.

How Kentuckians vote in Presidential Elections

In presidential elections most of the time Kentucky has voted for the Democratic party's candidate.  There have only been a few occasions when Kentucky voted for the Republican.  One of these years was 2000 when a majority of Kentuckians voted for George W. Bush, and Kentucky had more votes for Bush than any other state except Texas.
