I conduct  the 6th,7th, and 8th Grade Chorus and Orff Ensemble. In Chorus, students learn vocal technique and production, music from around the world, cooperation, and music theory skills.  We play the Orff instruments and percussion.  We also learn dances from different countries.  Our chorus performed for the American Orff Schulwerk Association National Conference in 2003.
Students have the opportunity to audition and participate in the KMEA All State Children's Chorus, KMEA Vocal Solo and Ensemble,  and the CKMEA All Region Honors Chorus.  The entire chorus participates in the State KMEA Performance Assessment in March. We also perform in the KY Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker, and in the King's Island Music Festival.
The other class I teach is Performing Arts.  Students participate in drama, music, and dance activities and study elements from all the arts.

I also sponsor the Speech Team.  The Speech Team competes with other schools in acting and forensic areas, such as Poetry, Duo Acting, Solo Acting, Storytelling and Broadcast Announcing.

Morton also presents a musical every spring.  Past musicals have included Oliver!, Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, and The Music Man.  All students are encouraged to audition and become a part of an exciting production.
