Look What We are Doing!
This month in Science, we are
finishing up our unit on Objects in the Sky. children have been
discovering the explanations for why we have day and night and seasons.
They have also been studying about the planets and stars.
In math, Students are really polishing their math skills that we
have been learning all year. I am so proud of their hard work during
March Math Madness! Keep up the great work with helping your child
study their multiplication and division facts. Using flashcard or
computer math games on the internet is a great way to help your child
master these. Helping your child 5-10 minutes consistently each day
makes an intentional and positive difference in the way he or she feels
about himself as a math student and with performance in school! This
month, we will resume taking our 2 minute time drills math facts.
In reading, students have been studying about using context clues
to understand the meaning of unfamiliar words and also to be able to
retell nonfiction texts in detail. Be sure your child is reading
every night as part of his or her nightly homework. One of the
number one determining factors in success in reading is having the
opportunity to actually read! Be sure to keep your child accountable in
this very important areaJ
