Short and Sweet… Okay, parents, this is going to have to be a very short (but sweet) newsletter this week. We here at Dixie are extremely busy this week. Report cards will be going out on Monday, and we are working very hard on our group science projects. (I am sure you have been hearing about them – we’re having a blast!) My graduate class also started this week. I am taking a course in technology. We’re supposed to be learning many new, interesting things, particularly in parent communication. I hope you don’t mind being my “guinea pigs” as I try new ideas. J Mystery ReaderThanks so much to Mrs. Lockwood for coming in and reading to us! The children absolutely loved it. Again, I want to have parents, grandparents, community members, anybody we can think of to come in and be a Mystery Reader. If you would like to participate or if you know someone else who could come, please contact me. I am willing to work around anyone’s schedule. And if you’re nervous about getting up in front of the children, PLEASE don’t be! The kids absolutely love our visitors, and they hang on every word. All of our Mystery Readers have done a great job!Important News for Parents and Guardians** Due to our snow day, we will be going to school on February 15th. This was formerly a day off for students, but we will ALL need to report to school that day. **If your child is ill and has to miss school, please do not forget to send in a note. Thanks so much! ** We will not have school on January 21st in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday. ** We love to see parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and guardians at lunch time! Please feel free to come and eat with your child at 10:45. Lunch is $3.25 for adults. Please take note that it is school policy that no outside food from restaurants (like McDonald’s) is allowed at Dixie. |
