Thankful for a Wonderful Year… You know, as I sat around the Thanksgiving table with my family, I couldn’t help but think of all of my students and parents. This is such a special group of children. They brighten every day for me! We are a very sweet, funny, intelligent, and unique group. Thanks to all of you for sending such great kids! Cold and Rainy WeatherSome parents have been asking about cold weather and recess. Typically, I like to take the kids out for some fresh air and exercise, provided it is not raining. Therefore, please send your child in with very warm coats, gloves, and hats! If you need any assistance with this, please talk to me or Raine Clark, our Family Resource Center director.I also have an update about recess and rainy weather. It looks like we will be able to go to the gym every day that it is rainy or too cold. Mr. Marshall has the gym open during our recess time, so we will still be able to get some exercise. (Whew!)Mystery ReaderWe loved having Ms. Cox in as our Mystery Reader today! Again, I want to have parents, grandparents, community members, anybody we can think of to come in and be a Mystery Reader. If you would like to participate or if you know someone else who could come, please contact me. I am willing to work around anyone’s schedule.Sticker StoreThings have been very busy in F-Complex! We apologize for not having Sticker Store recently. However, Mrs. Quinn-Wright has had a good idea about what we will do for December. Near the end of December, we will have a sticker store that will use all of their stickers from the last couple of months. The kids will choose things from the Store that they can give to a loved one. We will even have a wrapping station. If you have little knick-knacks or anything else at home that might work for this, please send them our way! We can use anything you might have!Important News for Parents and Guardians**If your child is ill and has to miss school, please do not forget to send in a note. Thanks so much! ** We have no school December 20-January 2 for Winter Break. Enjoy your time with your child! ** If you want to send in cupcakes or other items for the kids for birthdays, we have 24 children in my class. ** We love to see parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and guardians at lunch time! Please feel free to come and eat with your child at 10:45. Lunch is $3.25 for adults. Please take note that it is school policy that no outside food from restaurants (like McDonald’s) is allowed at Dixie.

Weekly Treasures Each week, I will be showcasing two students who have been real treasures in the classroom. ** Brandon is so funny and a hard worker! He has been a real treasure in my classroom! ** Elijah is always a treasure! He always helps his friends and does anything for his teachers.
