Parents Next week we will begin our yearly testing. Please make sure your child is in school and schedule all appointments in the afternoon if possible. We have worked diligently all year long and are well prepared. Our schedule will be a little different the next two weeks; therefore we will not have vocabulary until after the testing window is over. Parents! Many students are struggling with our new vocabulary program and I have seen a drop in test grades. Please take a little extra time to assist your child nightly with vocabulary study Lesson 15 Usual and Unusual Week of May 12th thru the 15th Lesson 15 Usual and Unusual Vocabulary Words 1. absurd- ridiculous; not sensible (adjective) 2. authentic- not faked or copied; real (adjective) 3. bizarre- extremely strange or odd (adjective) 4. conventional- usual; generally accepted (adjective) 5. exception- a case or an example that does not follow a rule or convention (noun) 6. exotic- unusual and interesting because of being from another part of the world (adjective) 7. habitual- done on a regular basis (adjective) 8. norm- a standard, model, or pattern that is typical (noun) 9. novel-unusual because of newness (adjective) 10. superlative- the best or most outstanding; superior (adjective)
