Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913 in Danville, Alabama.
Jesse Owens was one of eleven children in his family.
Jesse started picking cotton at the age of seven.
Jesse’s family was very poor. Jesse
Owens family moved to Cleveland, Ohio and he got into the Olympic games there.
When he was in the old Jesse broke three world records and tied in forth.
Even more amazing was he competed in the Olympic while suffering a
painful back injury.
