Harriet
Ross was born in Maryland in 1820. Harriet
Ross was a slave. She started
working at the age of five! Her
masters beat her when she disobeyed. Many
slaves were going to be sold. Harriet
planed to escape. Harriet was not
afraid to fight for the rights of the African Americans.
She saved over 300 slaves! She
made 19 trips on the Underground Railroad.
She had to hike through swamps and woodland to get to the Underground
Railroad.
